"Visit to A&E and fracture clinic"

Anything else?

My husband and I visited QEH on a busy, busy bank holiday. All the computers had crashed and there were people all over place, but surprisingly we were seen to fairly quickly (for a main A&E). We found the nursing and medical staff very kind, caring and helpful and the arm was X rayed and reviewed quickly. The only downside was the fact that the A&E Dr wanted a fracture clinic appointment within one week, but we couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks! This was something I found a bit shocking because the plaster and dressing was only a temp cast, plus the Dr reviewing was not an orthopaedic Dr. We also found it very hard to get hold of staff in the fracture clinic to see if there were any cancellations on a day to day basis. Anyhow, we visited the fracture clinic today and again the staffs were just as lovely, polite and professional and the clinic itself very clean and organised. The cons thought the arm may need surgery but will have to wait.....
