About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Anything else?

It would appear health care is not provided if you are over a certain age. My father is in there, he is in his 90s, he went is reasonably able to look after himself, but had had a fall in the night while getting up to go to the toilet. As he had fallen the paramedics were called(just to make sure) and although he was OK they decided to take him in for a check up. After being in for two days he has been left on his own and fallen twice, once fracturing his collar bone and the second time getting a fracture somewhere in his hip. He is left to fend for himself most of the time ie. eating and drinking despite one arm now being in a sling!! He is now very confused and if you didn't know him would say he is totally senile, all in the space of a couple of days.
