First the good - most departments excellent to good in all above categories.. Firstly the Pain Control Department and the procedures carried out in Day Surgery from Pain Control. The doctor and his excellent team cannot be faulted, especially as they are normally extremely busy with their workload,10 out of 10 . Endoscopy - Made you feel at ease and well organised. 9 out of 10. Not so good -- With my condition I take morphine and get constipated normally I can manage it. However Easter bank holiday I was admitted to ward B3 via out of hours doctor with severe constipation. Over the next few days I was told this was a surgical ward and was made to feel in the way. However I was due to go home and after washing I went to sit on the bed and the brake came off, I slid down on my behind and I felt a lot of pain in my back, as I had a very bad spine was in much distress I was given pain relieve. However I asked for an accident report to be carried out, this was not forthcoming and I had to insist for it to be done. It was then carried out. I was told I could not have a copy, I was very insistent.and with the help of P.A.L.S. I got a copy to which I was entitled. This caused friction between myself and the staff. I went home in an ambulance with a walker frame. I had walked in to hospital be it using a crutch. I am sure that this is the exception rather than the rule. I still have a lot of faith in Poole Hospital and still think it a great hospital.
