I had visited the walk-in centre at Sheppy Hospital after suffering with an eye infection. On arrival the main area was spacious and clean, I booked myself in at reception where I was greeted respectfully my details recorded and asked to wait in reception. I was shortly called in by the Nurse Practitioner. The ENP was pleasent and gave the impression that she loved her job as she was reassuring and professional throughout my consultation. As I was suffering with an eye infection my visual accurity was checked and this enabled her to diagnose my ailment offering reassurance and advice on how to care for this infection, shortly afterwards I was given a prescription for antibiotics and discharged home. The staff at the MIU at Sheppy Hospital should be proud of the excellent service they provide to islanders. I would definately recommend the MIU service to my friends and family if they ever needed to use it. The hospital in Sheppy was clean and tidy with very peasent and focused staff who care about their work. It's a credit to them all as the overall feel of the unit was calm and ordered. The only downside to my visit was that the main waiting area which is shared with the local GP service and Phlebotomy was looking tired, the colour on the wall was drab and dreary but this in now way was reflected in the care provided. Overall a very pleasent experience.
"An excellent service"
