Anything else?
My mother was recently admitted to the hospital. The A and E staff were fantastic. We did have to wait but I accept that. However, when she was moved to the Emergency Assessment Ward things went down hill. I appreciate that this is a busy ward but my main issue is the lack of communication. I was instructed to wait outside, then called in to find my mother sitting in a chair. Once seen we were told that she would be admitted but just left sitting there. After about half an hour I had to ask if she was staying there that night because she was exhausted and wanted to lie down. I do not like being rude to get noticed and I know the staff are very very busy. The nurses then did put her to bed but when I left I had no confidence that her needs would be met. As far as I am aware no one took my contact number and she and I were both upset. My father was treated in this hospital and I had concerns then regarding understaffing and lack of dignity. I am very disappointed to see that despite the glossy exterior, things have not moved on at all in terms of patient care.
