"Pitiful communication skills across Nursing staff..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Anything else?

I came in as an emergency treated in Casualty no one listened to my symptoms inferred I should be showing other symptoms? 7 staff came into my room and asked me why I needed to be on a stretcher and could I get to the loo myself. i am disabled and a wheelchair user I had to explain dozens of times over a two day period whilst nurses ignored my buzzer I finally almost soiled myself. Dignity care and respect is nowhere in this hospital, communication is in the dark ages, every nurse put me through the indignity of asking why I couldn't walk to the loo myself; and then took over 45 minutes on one occasion to come back to assist me. The politics between senior staff and junior staff was debilitating the whole team of workers and the patients were on the receiving end of substandard care whilst they tried to jockey for who did the "worst job" for the patient.
