"delivery ward was dreadful."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Anything else?

i had my baby here in april, i must say i was dissapointed from the start, when i arrived i had was in agony, i was made to wait in the corridor while they made the bad as it was dirty . when i finally got into the room the floor was dirty it had tissue on it and dried in blood, not to mention the toilet in the delivery room, there were drips of blood one the floor, sink and toilet. if i wasnt about to give birth i would have walked out. i actually cleaned it myself. i was left on my own and when i needed the midwife my partner had to go find one as i pressed the buzzer and no-one came, by the time they got back i was ready to push, the midwife went to get instruments and i was actually giving birth by the time she came back. After i had the baby i was told i had to stay 6 hours before i could go home, 4th baby so i knew what i was doing, but it was 9 hours before i got to leave, after trying to ask one of the midwifes if we could go she was very snappy and turned around and said the consultant is visiting poorly babies and yours isnt so you will just have to wait until he gets to you. i was merely asking how long it was going to be i didnt expect to be snapped at. i understand poorly children come first but i dont expect rudeness. i really hope i never have to visit here again!
