I was visiting Newark due to our son playing Rugby and I had picked up an injury earlier in the day from playing football. As the day went on the injury began to increasingly swell and was restricting the use of my left hand due to the pain. Before I set off, my wife recommended that I get it looked at and suggested popping in to the MIU at Newark if I get a chance. By the time I met up with our son, I decided that I needed to get some specialist advice and duly went to the MIU. Within one hour, I had been consulted, x-rayed and had my mind put at ease knowing I had not broken anything. Staff were first class in every respect and although on a first visit thinking it appears to situated in a strange area, the hospital is quite modern with all the basic facilities. Thoroughly recommend the use of this example of one the best NHS services I have come across.
