"Regular user of the hospital"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I felt a fool but for some reason I had ran out of one of my heart medications I tried to contact pharmacy and doctors over a bank holiday weekend but could not get any help. I adjusted my medications in the hope another would provide me with enough angina cover but after 48 hours I had to come in on a 999.The qualified medical staff were excellent. I felt safe and was made not to feel a burden. Would I recommend a and e without a doubt. The staff there have enough to cope with working on a building site.

Response from Bristol Royal Infirmary

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment on NHS Choices – we have passed this on to the staff in the Emergency Department. If you do find yourself short of medications and unable to speak to your usual doctor, then a good first point of contact is to phone 111, as they can put you in touch with an hours of hours doctor. Thanks again for your comment.
