About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

Anything else?

I was having a lower Wisdom tooth taken out. started off all ok but in the end a second opinion was called for, no problem with that registrar came in and took over after an hour in total it was out. I was offered no antibiotics and was not even told of the fact that a drill had slipped into side of my mouth and the hole it caused needed requiring stitches. I was also told when I rang up 5 days later that its Whipps X practise to not offer antibiotics. Consequently despite my washing out with salt solution as told to do I had an infection which meant I had to go to A & E to get prescription for antibiotics. May I suggest if this level of trauma is cause give antibiotics straight away to avoid any chance of infection. Week later the bone still hurts the infection has resided but mouth still feels a mess.
