What I liked
My mother aged 90 recently stayed in MAU. The doctors were easy to talk to and interested in my opinion of my mothers health. The nursing staff were mainly polite but didnt seem to have the time to spend with either visitors or patients.
What could be improved
Everything in MAU needs improving. My mother who has dementia, walks badly and is easily confused was given no help or encouragement to eat and when in a prvate room the food was left at the other side of the bed from her. It was still there cold and untouched at 7pm. To add insult to injury when discharged, at 9pm one evening, her dentures did not return to her care home with her. I and the care home have both rung the hospital since but her dentures appear lost. As the replacements will cost a 3 figure sum I shall be seeking some recompense
