"Great care following Septoplasty"

I was admitted to Ward C in September 2013 for Septoplasty and polyp removal. Despite an initial wait of an hour or so after admission I met with 2 anaesthetists and a surgeon, all of whom were more than willing to sit down with me and tell me what to expect and discuss any concerns I had. The nursing staff were very friendly and helpful, and with a very good attitude, always smiling which I imagine would go a long way to helping relieve any nerves some people may have. My post op care carried on as before. My only criticism of the whole day would be the food. I was given hot soup and a hot meal and then told I have to wait until it is cold before I can eat it as hot food would promote bleeding. Since this must be a regular occurrence in an ENT specialist unit surely it would be more practical to offer a cold salad and ice cream? Especially given that we ate then asked to eat ice to reduce blood flow. All in all, I has a pleasant experience given the circumstances and would like to pass on my thanks to all the staff who helped make it so.
