My father, who had many health problems, recently passed away in the above ward. He had been in Ward 12 a few times over the past 4 years and most of the nursing staff knew him well.
The care shown to my father by the whole Ward 12 team over the years but in particular in his last days was exceptional. Furthermore, the support given to me and the family was beyond criticism. My father's last days were peaceful, dignified and without pain. The family were treated with respect, courtesy and kindness.
Nothing was too much trouble for the ward team, everything was explained to us and re-explained if necessary. We were encouraged to ask if we needed anything for Dad or for ourselves and if we didn't ask, the staff would discretely check that everything was ok.
I have nothing but praise for these caring and hard working people.
