"They do everything in their power I can’t speak highly enough"

About: Adult community services / Nutrition and dietetics Rotherham Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

Absolutely excellent!

They do everything in their power I can’t speak highly enough for the fabulous staff. Dr Gardner was very worried I went to gp then 6 weeks later to the district nurse. Had my colonoscopy and gastroscopy at Christmas time.

I then had to see the nutrition and dietics team who put me on a plan, this made me feel so much better (thanks) I can now regulate my bowels.

My only niggle would be that I find the plan is not enough for a women of my age I want to be allowed more units, and dependent on units depends what you need to buy if I was on higher units it would help with ordering food as they come in higher units than what I have.

Dear Grail294, thank you for your posting on Patient Opinion. We really appreciate your feedback on the Trust’s services and are pleased to hear that your experience of those has been excellent.

With regard to your comments regarding the content and units allowed per month, this is worked out by the Dietitian at your interview. The amount of products has therefore been worked out to provide a certain energy value to your diet. The service is able to prescribe only the core food items and additional amounts can be purchased from supermarkets and pharmacies. If you have any concerns, please may I suggest you contact the Dietitian you saw, who would be happy to discuss this with you further.

With best wishes,

Kerry
