"Psychiatrist & CPN & Involvement at Rosewood"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

sent on behalf of a service user

My mums psychiatrist Dr Subuka Woods team Lucy Gillbert CPN and Jo Dickintus and Nigel Groves, Becky Cassidy and Trevor Hogg and the Crisis team from Millbrook for helping me to get better and learning to trust again.

Being involved at the Rosewood Centre has given me my self confidence to feel valued and just for being there in my recovery which I want to take forward and help others who have similar experiences to know that there is away forward and to believe in yourself.

I used to have a can-do-attitude and I feel it is coming back. So thank you all at Involvement for making me feel valued. Also a big thank you for all the volunteers who made me so welcome and that I am not on my own.

Please pass on my thanks to them all.

Reading your story this afternoon made my day - thank you so so much for sharing it with us.

I have the lovely task of responding to you on behalf of the involvement team, though Nigel Becky or Trevor may add their own personal response too. I know they will be chuffed to bits to hear that you are so grateful for their support.

I will make sure that they see your story, and that they know how much you have valued their support - and that of the volunteers too. I imagine that Nigel will print your story and put it up at the centre (if you don't mind!).

The team at Rosewood work very hard to make sure they have open arms and welcome everyone, and by that I mean welcome every one through the door in the first instance but also welcome their skills and contribution. Although you don't mention it, I am absolutely sure that your contribution to our Trust's work is hugely valued and appreciated so thank you so much for the time you give to us in Involvement. I'm glad that we've been able to have a positive impact on your life in the same way you will have a positive impact on our Trust.

It's great to hear that you have your confidence and your 'can-do attitude' back - that must feel exhilarating after being unwell. To reflect your words back to you, believe in yourself, and please continue to work with us in Involvement - we're glad to have you!

Thanks again for sharing your story,

How great to get such feedback, thank you for posting your comments. I will be posting your comments on our new PO (Patient Opinion) posting notice board at Rosewood, to show how much we welcome feedback and to hopefully engage others to post, we have a great many people who visit Rosewood and our PO notice board is in prime place so visitors to Rosewood can see how much we value all kinds of Feedback.

Thank you and congratulations on your Recovery.. Nigel

Thank you for sharing your inspirational story. At Deaf services we understand the difficulties experienced by deaf people with mental ill health and the burdens this may place on others. We, hence, have a high commitment to supporting carers, family and friends of Deaf people. Your experience highlights how vital it is to recognise the impact of the caring role on those who just want to give the best care for their loved ones. We are really pleased to learn about the positive journey your Recovery has taken you.
