I am a renal and heart patient so I use the patient transport service regularly.
I never have any problem with South Western, they take me to my heart appointments in Bristol. The drivers are all very courteous and helpful. I am slightly disabled and when they arrive to pick me up they always open the door and help you.
However when I attend my renal appointments at the dialysis unit in South Bristol (a satellite of South Mead Hospital) the transport is run by a taxi company and they just pip there horn when they are hear and just expect me to get in, do not offer to help or open the door.
