What I liked

I visited Radiology for an ultrasound abdominal scan.

The staff were very pleasant, very efficient and very helpful.

I was in and out within half an hour and spent a very relaxing 15 mins having a cup of tea and a bun at the modern clean WRVS cafe.

When you are worried about an illness it is good to be treated with care and understanding. Well done Harrogate Hospital.

What could be improved

I used the hand cleansing facility provided

Other people ignored it. I think reminders from staff to use the dispensers would help to keep infection out.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback on your recent hospital visit. Your comments regarding the service you received in the Radiology (x-ray) department will be shared with the team as well as being passed on to the volunteers at the WRVS.

Your observations regarding the use of hand gel are pertinent and the trust constantly strives to ensure that good hand hygiene is 'everyone's business'. To this end we endeavour to keep this message at the forefront of the minds of staff, patients and visitors both with the prominent use of gel dispensers as well as creative and regular communications.

One of our latest developments is the recruitment of volunteer 'hand hygiene champions' who are positioned at the entrance to wards and departments and actively encourage everyone who passes to use the hand gels. We hope this will increase both awareness and use of the gels and is just one of the projects underway at the moment.
