"lack of communication, activities and consultants..."

About: The Bradgate Mental Health Unit

Anything else?

the nurses on this ward seem to do good job. I would say that patients are left to their own, lack of activities for them to engage in on a daily basis. Consultants patronizing and one particularly rude. Ward round appointments are always running late!. The nurses who take the time out to play games with the patients and generally ask how there doing are the best and the only thing going there. Provision of food/refreshments are good, as are visiting time and the fact that they allow some flexibility. There are no updates given to family, it is up to the patient/family to badger staff!

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback about your time receiving care at The Bradgate Unit. We appreciate and respect the fact that you prefer to comment anonymously but unfortunately this also means we can’t address your concerns in detail. What we can say is that we are working hard across all wards to improve the quality of care. By the end of this financial year, we will have invested almost £2 million extra to increase the qualified staffing levels on our wards including occupational therapists and therapeutic liaison workers, which means we are able to increase the therapeutic activities available to inpatients and service users. This year we have also launched the Leicestershire Recovery College, a partnership initiative offering a range of fee-free recovery-focused courses and opportunities for people in Leicester with lived experience of mental ill health, and for their friends and families. We would like to address your specific concerns and would ask that you contact us about these directly – by getting in touch with our customer service team. This will also help us to make sure your appreciation of the hard work by ward staff and catering on the ward is passed on to the people concerned. You can contact our customer service team by phone Monday to Friday,9am - 5pm on 0116 295 0830 or 0831; email them at customerservices@leicspart.nhs.uk, or write to them at Freepost RSUL-LSXC-AGJU, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Customer Services Team, Lakeside House, 4 Smith Way, Grove Park, Enderby, Leicester, LE19 1SX
