Response from Graham McCrindle, Clinical Matron, HMP Stocken, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

I do believe that Pass may be a good idea and is already under consideration as the few whom do not respect the improvements to the waiting area that have been made for prisoner benefit will eventually deem the area unfit and spoiil it for all.

It is not my or anyones wish to return to the days of stark metal chairs. So in principle I agree. The main issue would be what happens with those deemed unfit.

In relation to water, there is a water dispenser within healthcare which is available to prisoners. But it is only available by staff collection as it is within a staff access only area.

My other consideration is also misuse of this machine if placed in the waiting room which has happened previously.

I shall examine the feasability of the two suggestions made as they are constructive and would benefit all if achievable.

Thank you once again.
