"Arthritis Appointment"

About: Seacroft Hospital

Anything else?

In August 2012 I was referred for an appointment for Arthritis. I finally Received a letter stating my appointment would be 12th December 2012. At this appointment The doctor was lovely and assured me that due to my pain and my age being only 22 I would receive the next appointment within 4-8weeks. I had been dealing with pain for a long time with no doctors taking me seriously due to my age and the doctor assured me he would help find out what type of Arthritis it was an help find me the right treatment ASAP. By May I was still waiting for my appointment. I rang on numerous occasions receiving no reply. Finally I got through to someone who told me my the doctor was very behind with his appointments and only just getting through the January appointments. I finally received a letter for the 26th July, more then 7 months later. The day before the appointment I was called to be told that the appointment was to be cancelled as the only doctor's family member was seriously ill. I fully understood as this cannot be helped but then received another letter saying my next appointment would be the 11th September. another 2 months to wait and a total of almost 10months when told I would receive my appointment in 4-8weeks. I am in constant pain with a very demanding physical job. I don't understand why there is only one doctor that can see me or why I have waited this long.
