"Cold, angry maternity consultant"

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

Anything else?

My wife has thyroid problems. We were told by NHS doctor at Queen Elizabeth and private consultant at Portland that TSH must be tested every 4 weeks. Private consultant tested and altered medication at 8 weeks as we were at risk of loosing baby. At 20 weeks Luton and Dunstable have done no tests (despite their published procedures stating once per trimester, and our community midwife confirming this). Asked at 20 week scan do we have any questions... so we asked. Consultant (who we should have been seeing anyway) called, "we are following the pathway", "we are doing what we always do", my wife left in tears. This is the second meeting with this consultant, and the second occasion where they have not even tried to pronounce my wife's name and that they have been cold and dismissive. We now feel part of a sausage factory which does not care...
