"Minor Injuries Mon 19th Aug"

About: Clacton Hospital

Anything else?

Visited minor injuries unit with my 13 year old son who had sustained a nasty cut to his leg 2 weeks previously which had had 13 stitches. However, while away at my parents in Clacton his wound was still not healing and weeping lots, despite regular cleaning and wound care. I took my son to minor injuries and was seen by an ENP who was very thorough and treated my son with care and respect. He cleaned his wound and re-dressed it, explained what choices we had regarding his care and prescribed antibiotics and advised us to come back in the morning for an X-ray to check for FB. Thankfully no FB in wound, we were seen by another ENP who again was fantastic with my son and redressed his wound and discharged us home. Hopefully my sons wound will heal eventually, in the meantime, please pass on our thanks.
