Anything else?
I needed to write and ‘sincerely thank’ and acknowledge MK Hospital and two of its fantastic members of staff. Without whom I may not have made it through to today but have! There is so much negativity around the City, in the newspapers and in the hospital but I have never had anything but good experiences-even a recent full hip replacement was not so bad.... But yesterday the hospital and its staff excelled! Please can you inform them and their managers and thank them again on my behalf... A senior Audiology and ENT Consultant worked together, as a team and involved me, the patient, in diagnosing a condition I had with no waffle only professional information-not just trying to make me feel better and calm me down during a panic attack and in my worked up neurotic state because I thought I had gone deaf!. This all happened after I arrived in a state of physical and emotional distress in the ENT/Audiology department during routine clinics yesterday. Oh yes... which I kept apologising for but no one even blinked an eye and I was cared for straight away, treated with respect and a secretary and another Audiologist didn't even seem to worry that I was there without appointment etc they were so approachable and didn't palm me off with ‘were busy, you will have to wait...’ My disability of already profound hearing loss was also a major factor which kicked in and communication was made even more difficult for me and the staff again were so caring! A senior Audiologist worked with me; and through my symptoms, did tests so she knew what we were dealing with and talked ‘straight facts’ in a kind, respectful and caring way. She then sort further support from a lovely ENT Consultant who came to our rescue during his clinic-which I know how busy ENT always is! He was quiet, kind, assessed and reassured me-treated me and confirmed the whole situation. He arranged for medication from the hospital pharmacy so I didn’t have to go any where else but home. The wording I have used is from the heart and how it was-an extremely frightening experience...without Milton Keynes Hospital 'special' staff and NHS services I really do not know what would have happened...
"Emergency care and urgent attention but not in A n..."
