Anything else?
My husband recently suffered a stroke and was admitted to the stroke ward. The nursing staff carried out his nursing needs without any compassion to his shock at having a stroke and how he was effected by it. He was discharged without much information on his future prognosis, apart from some leaflets and a bag of pills with the promise of an outpatient appointment. On the insistent of myself demanding to know more about his stroke, I was made to feel a bit of a nuisance. This experience was very traumatic, and I feel it will take a long time for both of us to get over it.
