"Mindfulness course for people in recovery"

About: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Working age mental health care (community)

(as the patient),

I was unable to attend my Mindfulness course after a few sessions as I found it too intense having 2 hour sessions once a week.

The facilitators were very good. The course was just not applicable to people under the Recovery Services. Most people there seemed quite able, confident and one mentioned they was able to work. This was all quite intimidating especially in a meditation environment. I know there is a lot of evidence to support how helpful mindfulness can be for people trying to improve their mental health condition. I think it would be very helpful if Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust could do a course for people who are under the Recovery Services.

Please consider this.

Thank you for letting us know how you felt about the course - I will tell the staff that organise the Mindfulness programme about your suggestion. Have you also discussed this with your key worker? They may have some suggestions about local help that will suit you more at the moment

Kind regards
