About: King's Mill Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

i myself work in an industry where too often there is only negative feedback, however i feel it is just as apt to make comment if an experience exceeded expectations. i brought my son to byron house on sunday night and was dealt with promptly and professionally, it became obvious my 11 yr old son, alex, was facing admission with possible emergency surgery straight away and no time was spared, i was in blandy ward within 10 mins, the staff here were attentive and caring and made my son s initial welcome to hospital life pleasant, i was allowed to sleep next to my son that night in the ward and was asked if everything was ok on numerous occasions. he then needed an op the following am and the nurse couldn't do enough to help, she and all blandy ward staff are a credit to the nhs. the op was speedy and efficient and everyone involved in the anaesthetic procedure were top notch, my son was laughing on the way to theatre. thanks to everyone, so appreciative of the attention.

What could be improved

only a very minor gripe, don t think teachers have much of a place in someone who is facing an operation!!

Thank you for your comments, and we are pleased you were impressed with the service. Without more information we cannot comment on the point made about teachers, however we would say that students are sometimes present as part of their training to become doctors/nurses/surgeons etc.
