My son transferred to Stafford from Stoke UHNS and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham at my request, as he wanted his care to be close to home. His consultant Haematologist has been fantastic. He has taken the time to talk to us and re-assure us every step of the way. He never rushes off, and he explained everything to my son in terms he would understand. I cannot praise the staff at the chemo-therapy unit enough, They make a huge fuss of him every time we go, and laugh and joke with him. There is such a positive and cheerful approach to care, that we couldnt fail to be re-assured. He came out of his first visit and told me that was the first time he had truly felt he would be ok. That meant a huge amount to us as a family. We had a very stressful time in the few months leading up to diagnosis, and it was a weigh off my shoulders knowing I could trust the staff to give him the best possible care. Keep up the good work!
