"Long delays in the fracture clinic"

About: Chase Farm Hospital

Anything else?

Had a 10.55 appointment in the fracture clinic and was seen at 1pm. I understand there will be delays , but feel that patients should be given accurate information. At one point a nurse announced delays of 40 minutes, after I had already been waiting an hour. I also asked if i need an x ray before I saw the doctor ( I have a broken arm) was told no , only for the doctor to ask to see my x rays as soon as I sat down. More time wasted going to get x ray and then back to fracture clinic. Poor organisation. Otherwise doctors and staff were good - just need to sort the admin out.

The Trust apologies for the poor experience that you had in our fracture clinic. The Trust operates a number of clinic through the fracture clinic which include emergency add on appointments from the emergency department. The demands of the department fluctuate and I am aware that there was a staff shortage issue that day in the clinic. I have passed your feedback onto the business managers for the service for their informationa dnattention. As an organisation we are committed from learning from specific issues and from any mistakes we may have made. Hearing about where we can do better helps us to pinpoint where exactly to make improvements to the service we provide.
