Anything else?
I felt I needed to reply in response to the previous negative view. When my daughter found out that she was expecting she made the decision to have all her ante-natal care and delivery at the Royal Surrey. I went on various visits with her and found the attention and care she received each time to be of a high standard. On several occasions she had to ring the necessary departments for advice/peace of mind (this was her first pregnancy and was obviously nervous about any little thing), each time she spoke to someone who responded in a very caring and helpful manner.....nothing was too much trouble. Yes the Department does get very warm and understandably being pregnant makes it worse but that is the case in any part of the hospital. Overall the care that my daughter was shown was without any doubt good. Perhaps the person who made the 'negative' view should have perhaps spoken to one of the clinical staff and then perhaps would not have had such a bad experience. Yes you do wait sometimes to be seen but that just goes to show that the clinical staff are being attentive and caring for each individuals needs...sometimes there are problems that arise that have to be addressed at that given time...people would soon worry if they only had a 5 minute consultation. I would like to think that expectant mums will still consider the Royal Surrey for their maternity needs as it is a good service from start to finish when you finally hold that baby in your arms.
