I was informed by an adult social worker that my elderly Mother had Vascular Dementia. The Mental health Doctor or team did not have the courtesy to advise me as next of kin. What about Patient/ Doctor confidentiality? I was extremely upset and then 5 days later was told it was a mistake. Absolutely disgraceful and in-accurate. As my Mother had a Urinary Tract Infection and was suffering from confusion when she was assessed.
