Regular visitor to Frimley Park - I was in for a clinic appointment this week and the new booking in computer screen/system was active. I have to say, that I have some real concerns! I'm standing in a queue, waiting to book in, when the screen that the lady two people in front of me in the queue flashes up in letters big enough for me to read her home address and her mobile phone number for her to check. Now, If I could see this from two people back, half the room could. Same with the lady in front of me, I could see all her information too. Now, personally, I didn't feel too comfortable with seeing this, let alone feel comfortable about my daughter or wife going in to use it and half the room seeing sensitive information, that could lead to god only knows what if someone with nefarious intent can stand there and see the address and phone number of vulnerable patients. Fine, book people in, but there's no need for this information to be on display to all and sundry, and I hope its acted on before something nasty happens!

We are very grateful to you for raising this issue. The kiosk check-in has only been operating for a few days in this area at Frimley Park and as soon as we received your comment we were able to investigate. Thanks to your feedback and comments from others the kiosk in Outpatients 1 has been repositioned and we are looking at reducing the font size. We have also been making other adjustments to the kiosks as the new system is rolled out. The steering group who are implementing the new kiosks, which includes a patient representative, will continue to act on feedback to offer the best possible service to patients.
