What could be improved
My father was brought in by ambulance to A&E late at night with a suspected stroke. I stayed with him until he was put into a ward after being treated. When I was allowed into the ward he was struggling about trying to get comfortable. I lifted the blanket to help him and was amazed to find that he had been 'dumped' in the bed with his legs hanging over the bed end. I found the nurses having a tea break. I complained about their incompetance and one reluctantly followed me back to the ward and helped me put him to bed comfortably.
I know its late at night and we all need a break but only after doing the job competantly. What if I hadn't been there? I dread to think.
