"Emergency Care"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

On the 6th August I was sent to EC at HRI by my GP with a suspected TIA. I must admit it was with trepidation when I had to sign in and the condition wasn't noted on the sign in screen, it did though give me an opportunity to state I had a GP referral. Within 20 minutes I was seen by a Nurse and as I came out the Doctor called me straight in. The checks where very thorough and I was sent for a CT Scan very quickly. With the results being given within about 20 minutes of going. The Stroke Co-Ordinator who came to see me was very knowledgable and explained the next steps I would take once she had supplied me with a blood thinning drug. For years this Department has taken a lot of flack but I can honestly say within 4 hours I was back home awaiting a referral to the TIA Clinic. Well done to all concerned.
