"as my daughter had a ceasarian ..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

(as a relative),

What I liked

as my daughter had a ceasarian section because of a heart shaped womb and baby was breech, after the operation she was feeling quite sick and very tired and baby wouldnt settle her partner asked if they could have a side room and was told only if they paid £63 per night. We were totally shocked as we thought you only paid in a private hospital. the room was small and didnt even have a full sized hospital bed.

What could be improved

my daughter was told they had to pay unless there was a medical problem. what is the medical problems that make it you dont have to pay for a room that wasnt much bigger than a good sized store cupboard. the operation was good and the nursing care was quite good but the fact that they had to pay we think was very dissapointing.then they could only have two visitors even though it was a side room. baby was also jaundiced.
