"They were so polite and couldn't do enough to make sure we were all looked after"

My 6 y o daughter was admitted to the children's ward and was on the ward for three days and two nights during the recent heatwave.

I really can't praise the staff enough. My God, angels every one of them. They were so polite and couldn't do enough to make sure my daughter and my wife and me were looked after, making sure we were all well watered and cared for. Not once did I hear any of the staff complain about having to run around in the heat, and sometimes after other parents mistreated them, shouting abuse at them when they are there looking after their children.

I take my hat off to everyone on the children's unit of the Royal Oldham Hospital. I will be looking at a way of trying to pay the wonderful staff a small token of our appreciation or if I can send them a thank you card and a box of chocolates.
