"Friendly staff but unacceptable waiting times"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Ear, Nose & Throat NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I was required to have wax removed from my ear at Springburn Health Centre.

Apart from confusion over my appointment, I found the Practice nurses very professional, informative, helpful and friendly attending to me.

However, I find the waiting time and the appointment system unacceptable for getting access to the practise nurse.

I was told up-to 10 week wait for my hearing test for hearing aid fitting at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Thank you for your feedback, I can't comment on your experience at the Health Centre and you should raise this with the Practice Manager, as I am sure they would want to know about your experience.

In terms of the wait for a hearing aid to be fitted, waiting times can vary, and on the assumption you are waiting on confirmation of your appointment, you can contact the Hospital department to ask if you can be seen sooner, if the appointment is one you want to try to advance. Staff in the department will do their best to accommodate you if you want to alter your appointment.

I hope this is helpful advice.

Paul

Re the health centre I raised my concerns with practise manager.

Re the hearing test the staff said it could take up to 10 weeks for appointment I think it is out of the staff hands. What is needed is MORE staff. The lack of staff is not the staffs problem more like lack of staff is the problem.
