"Eldery Mother on Kennedy Ward"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

Anything else?

My mother was admitted from her care home with a fractured femur, she has dementia with all the existing complications, but the staff on Kennedy from the Sister to the people cleaning the wards, gave my mother so much care and attention. The staff had no warning of our visits but each time we went , at different times of the day someone was checking her, making sure she had no pain, making her drink and eat. They made sure that she ate food that was easy for her at the start because she had little appetite All the staff were available to talk, and the two doctors who attended mum gave of their time to explain all that was going on, and considering how busy they all are, we were never made to feel rushed. If I ever break something and have to spend time in hospital, I hope they take me to Kennedy Ward, A huge thank you to all the hardworking compassionate staff on Kennedy Ward

Response from Hillingdon Hospital

Thank you so much for your lovely comments which I have shared with my staff. I always feel very proud when we receive feedback like this and I appreciate the time you have taken to post this on the website. We always aim to give our best to each patient and I am so pleased that your Mother received the best care that we could give and that you were very happy with that care. I believe it is vital to be available to members of the family to ensure that effective communication takes place and you get a sense of achievement when eventually the patient leaves and everything has been well planned with no surprises. Thank you again for your very kind words. S Kehoe, Senior Sister, Kennedy Ward
