"I would never stay here again"

About: Dorset County Hospital

Anything else?

I saw a patient die alone, curtains drawn, (were supposed not to know), heard the 'thud' as they dumped her in a fake bottomed trolley. I had to provide my own medication. I saw qualified nurses only doing drug rounds or sat at the desk gossiping, untrained HCA were run ragged! I ended up trying to complain to the ward sister, but got nothing but excuses about funding and infections. I caught a supper bug, while there and was sent home early, thankfully. Severely understaffed, all of the staff are afraid to complain incase they loose their jobs. I saw many discharged early, only for them to return within 24-48 hrs in a far worse condition.

I was saddened to read this patients experience and I would be pleased to hear from them directly if they wish to make contact with me. Any contact would be confidential and I will ensure that the hospital investigates their observations and act on any areas for improvement.
