Ambulance took 20 minutes to arrive. After x rays etc. was admitted to South Crofty ward. One side of the ankle was operated on, and days of waiting for the ankle swelling to go down, before the other side was operated on . This particular ward, has excellent well established nursing staff, who work as a happy team, including the cleaner. The Tea lad was fantastic and efficient also. There was even a gentleman cleaning under the beds and curtain rails. spotlessly clean. television and radio was especially helpful as a distraction and even played our requests.I honestly can only make one suggestion for improvements to this ward, from a patients perspective , this would be to buy soft close lids for the bins, or asking staff to close them instead of dropping them , through the night especially. I would like to make an extra mention two members of staff, who for me would win the Florence nightingale award. A real genuine , heartfelt, level of compassion, and care, for all patients on the ward at this time from these 2 ladies. Thank You .My surgeons were amazing, my ankle is healing, my scars are neat. God Bless You All.
