What could be improved
A&E waiting area was cold and draughty on a warm day. For anxious injured people this is not good. We waited 2 2/1 hours, cold and hungry, only to be sent away none the wiser.
My own problem - sudden loss of hearing. Was advised to go to GP, went to GP.
she wrote a note and sent me back to the Hearing Clinic which cannot be more than 100 yds from A&E yet they seem unaware that it exists. So 2 trips to hospital not one when in a highly anxious and distressed state, fearing permanent hearing loss - not to mention extra travel, costs and time - plus the waste of staff time. Could not A&E reception have redirected me?
