"Untreated Child"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

Anything else?

Saturday at 8pm The Dr at Northwick Hospital saw my 2 year old son and a Consultant also checked the rash/ringworm on his right arm. The Doctors kept us waiting for hours before they finally told us that they have reported us to the Social Worker. I was surprised and ashamed of the Consultant that has deemed the rash as a cigarette burn, when I know very well this started as a normal rash and has got bigger very quickly hence the reason I sourced for the quickest medical attention possible for my child. We were not allowed to leave the hospital even though we told the Doctors that we were fasting and the children were hungry; they instead gave my children sandwiches that are not even fit for a dog to eat. The younger child ate it because he was too hungry but the older sister couldn't even swallow the first bite. They released us at 2.45am after speaking to the social worker and she promised to get in contact on Monday and I have not heard anything since. On Monday afternoon, the rash spread around my son's body and that got me really worried so I contacted the GP and they said it was a very badly infected IMPETIGO and therefore gave antibiotics. Monday evening, my son was very uncomfortable and unable to sleep. I took him back to the hospital to inform them that the consultant has wrongly accused us the parents and now the rashes has got worse. The duty doctor instantly said it was definitely not chicken pox or cigarette burn but she was not sure what it was. We waited for almost three hours and still did not get seen which was very disgusting. I decided to leave the hospital at 2.30am unseen. We then had a visit from the police telling us they have been called because we have refused treatment for our son. Now that is insane when a doctor was supposed to treat people not spend all night on the phone with social worker reporting another innocent parents and a sick child that has not been treated. I really don't know where to stop but if indeed this hospital care for people especially young children, they should spend more time solving health issues not scrutinising parents in the most sickening way and the social workers do not really care as we have not been contacted since Sunday morning that we had a conversation with a social worker. If that was truly an abuse, it would have been too late to rescue the child.
