Mid June, I was taken by emergency ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital suffering severe pain due to a kidney stone. The ambulance arrived at our home only a few minutes after my wife made an emergency call and I was quickly transferred to A & E where a wonderful doctor, on seeing my condition, immediately administered morphine to alleviate my pain, even before I had formally been handed over by the ambulance crew.
Later that same evening I was transferred to Shuttleworth ward, where I stayed for a few days. All the staff were very kind and professional, and I would particularly mention a Staff Nurse called Clare.
My wife is a retired State Registered Nurse who trained during the early 1960's under the old style matron regime. She was very impressed by the care that I received and by the high standard of cleanliness throughout those parts of the hospital that she saw.
Please convey my very grateful thanks to all the staff involved in the Ambulance Service, A & E and Shuttleworth ward.
"The great care i received from ambulance, A&E, then the ward "
