Anything else?
Our second frustrating experience of Colchester General Hospital. Daughter was bought into A and E last week where she had tests to check the functioning of her kidneys, after four hours the consultant discharged her suggesting she had wind, while preparing to leave she was taken for a second x ray where the radiographer, on hearing the diagnoses, had the courage to challenge the diagnosis and Alice was admitted onto a ward. After a stay of four days she was discharged as they believed she had passed the stone. During her stay she experienced some excellent care and some less than satisfactory, on one occasion she was left sitting, in extreme pain, for almost two hours in a chair, while they exchanged her mattress. The level of client communication was poor, which in turn left my daughter feeling frustrated and not in control of her care. She has now been re admitted and we are currently sitting waiting for some/ any sort of communication in the EAU ward. Further tests were carried out last night, of which we still have not been privileged to share, no communication has been made as to what are the intentions for her care, she is currently on water only completely unaware as to why this might be so, we can only assume its because of possible surgery, but who knows? The nursing team seem busy and have attempted to find out more information, we are left waiting, frustrated and not in control of Alice's care.
