I was recently referred to the urology dept at the hospital by my GP. My appointment came through quickly and efficiently with comprehensive written information about the procedures that would be undertaken. On the day of the appointment, I had an X Ray and ultra sound scan, followed by a cystoscopy. The results of the first two tests were available when I saw the consultant and the examination itself was completed with the minimum of fuss and discomfort. I had a follow up appointment two months later - all the staff I met were helpful and professional and explained everything thoroughly. Last year, my mother spent 10 weeks in hospital (in Oak Ward) where she was treated impeccably - despite being very elderly, the medical staff put every effort into helping her to recover Hospitals often get a bad press, but my recent experiences at Scarborough have all been very positive
