"Caring and concerned staff"

About: Amersham Hospital

Anything else?

Two years ago, when my mother was dying of ovarian cancer, she was admitted to Wycombe Hospital - our experience their was horrendous. Fortunately, after much fighting, I was able to get her moved to Amersham Hospital. The care she received in the final days of her life was wonderful. Caring staff who involved the family in every decision. I can't praise this hospital enough, from the nursing staff, Social Worker & OT to the visiting doctor all were wonderful and supportive and made that awful time a little more bearable for us. A huge thanks to all of them. I heard rumours that Amersham Hospital was to close which would be a tragedy - the only hospital under Buckinghamshire NHS Trust that is worth saving.

Dear Ann Thank you for taking the time to comment, we will make sure this is passed back to the staff. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with your mother's care at Amersham Hospital, but are very sorry that you did not have a similar experience at Wycombe Hospital. If you haven't already, we encourage you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01296 316042 or email pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk so that we can discuss this in more detail. We would also like to reassure you that there are no plans to close Amersham Hospital. Kind regards Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust
