"Taking 92 year old mother to A & E "

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Expecting a very long, uncomfortable wait in the A & E department on a boiling afternoon with my 92 yr old mother who had suffered a mini stroke (TIA) the evening before - I was more than pleasantly surprised.

We went straight into triage for assessment, after 10mins in the waiting room, we were called for blood and urine tests and asked to return to waiting. 10mins later we were called into Dr. Anatole who treated my mother with care and respect. She was given a very thorough examination physically and mentally, prescribed medication, passed on for monitoring and advised that an appointment will follow for the stroke clinic.

All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The A &E department bright and cool. 5 star treatment. Thank you!

Dear Gill

Thank you for taking the time to write such wonderful feedback on your mothers recent visit to the A&E Department. It was great to hear that you gave the hospital a 5 star rating and that we exceeded your expectations.

We do hope that your mother is recovering well.

Best wishes
