I had been suffering from post traumatic stress disorder due to being at Hillsborough 24 years ago. I had never told anyone of my experiences and had tried to lock it away in my head and ignore what I had gone through.
In January, I had a breakdown. The previous six months I started suffering with strange symptoms but did not equate this to Hillsborough. Without the treatment from Inclusion Matters I don't know what might have happened to me as I was in a very dark place.
After an initial conversation over the phone I was given an appointment 2 days later. During the sessions over the following weeks it became apparent to me how much my experiences at Hillsborough had actually affected me over the years.
Before the treatment I received at Inclusion Matters I could not talk about or watch anything to do with Hillsborough. I could not attend any of the memorial services.
Over the past 5 months I have learned to deal with what I went through that day and finally after 24 years I feel I can live with my experiences. Without the help from Liam and the staff at Inclusion Matters I would not be where I am today.
I know there are many other Hillsborough victims suffering in silence. I just hope they can get the treatment I received.
