"My son was transferred from Heaatlands ..."

About: Selly Oak Hospital (Acute)

(as a relative),

What I liked

My son was transferred from Heaatlands on 21st May 2008, he was seen after some considerable time and admitted, this he was told was with a view to him going to theatre on Thursday, later on in the afternoon he was told this would not happen, but he would go to theatre on Friday afternoon, not so at 5pm he was told he would not be going down to theatre. He was told he would go on Saturday at around 2pm, again not so he was seen by Dr and told it would be 7pm, and that he would be able to go home at around 10pm. Again wrong information he actually had to stay in this was extremely upsetting for him and he wanted to sign himself out. He was told he could go home on Sunday, but had to wait for tablets he was still waiting for tablets at 2pm.

What could be improved

No two people gave the same information and it is down to the nursing staff to have to cope with uset patients/visitors. It does not help being told various hings when you are upset, frightened and obviously at time in pain.
