"I recently spent 8 days in the ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Birmingham)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I recently spent 8 days in the the neuro unit and 24 hours in NCCU. The staff there were excellent I cant praise them enough. They showed that they were caring, committed and very competent. The atitiude of the staff made me and my family feel at ease at a very difficuilt time. It is very important when you are so ill to have confidence in the medical staff that ar treating you. I liked the fact that you are tested for MRSA before you are addmitted. The new angiogramm suite was excelent the staff there were also wonderful. The only down side is that my nero- surgeon is retiring this year and he is such a lovely man.

What could be improved

The neuro unit where I was an patient need updating but I'm sure this will be addresssed when they move to the new site. I spent a day as a day patient when I had my angiogramm and noticed that there was more that one paitent to a bed. The patients and nursing staff were in good spirits but I can help but feel that this put unnecessary pressure on the staff.
