"I was admitted to Selly Oak hospital ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Birmingham)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to Selly Oak hospital via A&E for a displaced and fractured elbow in October 2002, and sent to the QEH for physiotherapy following the operation. I'm writing this now in July 2007, but remember the events clearly:

The out-patient physiotherapist allotted to me in the Q.E.H. deserves high praise for her complete and intelligent sensitivity to my elbow-recovery needs (i.e. for using my elbow in life in general, and for helping me to get back enough flex in it to be able to continue as a professional musician). Also for her week to week encouragement, and for having a technique that didn’t need me to go through any of the agonising manoeuvres that one of my neighbours gloomily predicted would be necessary! She was excellent.
